Head London

We’ve moved!

Tuesday 1st February 2011

Last week, after months of marvelous planning, we finally packed up our beloved Percy Street home after five and half years and shipped ourselves round the corner to Great Titchfield Street.

Our gorgeous new workspace can be found inside Moray House complete with tons of natural light, acre’s of studio space and a super new kitchen. Aside from the usual teething problems we’re now all set up after cracking open the celebratory champagne.

For more photos of the new studio head over to Flickr here or to find you way to the new office check find us on the map here.

P.S – We’re still contactable on all the same numbers!

Hubbub wins a BIMA

Monday 29th November 2010

Last week the team here at Head threw on our party frocks and headed down to Heaven; the venue of this year’s BIMA Awards.

Despite the freezing cold, our spirits were high – nominated in 2 categories for our work on Hubbub we thought we were in with a good chance of winning. As expected the venue was heaving with us industry folk, to which we gobbled down the Iceland style posh nosh and the long wait for the bar.

Destroying the competition in our second nominated category, Retails, Services & Utilities we beat off industry giants Tesco to win gold for Hubbub. A huge reward for what is a truly great story and what was an awesome project to work on. We’re super thankful that the judges over at BIMA who recognised the quality in the design and development that brought such an amazing project to life.

We’re BIMA Finalists

Monday 18th October 2010

Mondays are never dull here at the Towers of Head London but this morning proved to be a recent best with the announcement of the 2010 BIMA Award finalists.

Alongside some exceptional nominations in this years awards, our very own work for the online local food delivery service Hubbub has been included as a finalist in the ‘Consumer Goods & Services’ and ‘Retail, Services and Utilities’ categories.

The award ceremony doesn’t hit London town until the end of November which means a few weeks of finger and toe crossing but hopefully it’ll be worth the wait and we can fend off the brilliant competition in both categories.

To find out more about the prestigious BIMA Awards check out their website here, or to find out more on our work for Hubbub click here.

London’s Alternative Olympic Mascots

Wednesday 19th May 2010

The master’s of decency here at Head have prepared some truly British alternatives to the official London Olympic Mascot launch and the press have already caught on after the mascots were featured on the Guardian Sport website today.

The series of alternative mascots range from pork scratchings and 50p pieces to pints of ale and dirty fivers – mainly pub lifestyle orientated. As the Guardian put it “What about some pub snack characters, offers James Kirkup who, it would appear, reckons that by putting arms on any object you can create an Olympic mascot”.

To see the rest of the entries and a few more of our ideas head over to the Guardian’s gallery here.

A feast of updates…

Thursday 30th July 2009

It’s all been very exciting here at Head recently, the whole team have been locked up working hard on lots of great new projects we just can’t wait to share with you, including a new addition to Head Labs but we’ll save news on those for another time.

Hard Work!

All hell broke loose last week as Percy Street transformed itself into a mini-jungle as one of the tree’s took a wee tumble and ended up face-down between two cars. An enormous shout goes out to the tree surgeons of our lovely borough who were round in a jiffy to clean up all the mess.

There’s also been a few new additions to the office, starting with our new Web Trend Map from the very intelligent people at iA. “The Web Trend Map plots the Internet’s leading names and domains onto the Tokyo Metro map. Domains and personalities are carefully selected through dialogue with map enthusiasts, and every domain is evaluated based on traffic, revenue, and character.”

Some more photos of this and last years poster can be found over on our Flickr.

And secondly our new four legged friend Lily has joined the team. Unfortunately Lily be working from home for the meantime leaving duster to munch on all of the office grub but stay tuned for more news on the office animal collective soon.
